Viktor IV

Karl Gluck, American, chessplayer, seaman, traveler, sportsman, journalist, free spirit changed his name to Viktor IV in April of 1964.

Settling in Amsterdam after traveling extensively through Europe and the Soviet Union, Viktor IV bought an old freighter which he christened the Kamakara Buddha. On this floating studio Viktor painted Ikons on driftwood collected from the harbor.

Viktor died in June of 1986. He drowned while working under his boat.

In 1982 August Lousisson-Barrier made a 53 minute documentary of Viktor's work: "Who Needs The Pacific Ocean", produced by Sigma films.
